Odd Girl Out: show 37

Manon Duursma; photo by Val Phoenix One milestone (the show’s first live Skype interview), accompanied by some technical hitches, made for a lively show. Girl In a Thunderbolt was the Skypee, speaking about her recent gig at Ladyfest Norwich, her new album and the loss of her beloved hat.

Odd Girl Out: show 36

Great to be back on-air after Optical Radio’s three-week hiatus. The posh DJ CD player was gone, so it was back to the old, cranky one that tends to skip, but at least matches its mate. But, nothing that was too disruptive.

For those who don’t know, Optical broadcasts from a police-station-turned-art-centre, The Old Police Station, in what was the interrogation room, a tiny, windowless space adjacent to the old cells. It’s a “special” atmosphere, to be sure. On to the show, which is repeated Sunday @ 13:00....

Old playlists up

Hurrah! The playlists for all 35 shows to date of Odd Girl Out, my weekly show covering women's creativity, are now on the site. I will endeavour to add more features as time (and my technical knowledge) permits.

The show airs live on Optical Radio Thursdays @ 19:00 BST and is repeated Sundays @ 13:00 BST.

Currently, the station is on a live hiatus, and so, this Sunday is a repeat of show 19, the cabaret special.
