Finally! A new podcast to share. This one was a walk through the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park undertaken last summer with urban planner Dr. Carolin Schröder. Among the highlights: bouldering, a water play area and the thorny question of urban regeneration.
I guess it doesn't seem like anything much is happening on the Odd Girl Out front, as I haven't posted any new shows or podcasts for some months. I am just starting to write my dissertation, so am unlikely to do any new shows for awhile.
But, I have not been idle. I regularly post old shows to Mixcloud, and they link to playlists on here, so you should still have a "new" show from me every week. Do check them out!
My fourth podcast for East London Radio is a report from last week's
launch of the 28th edition of what has been BFI London Lesbian and Gay
Film Festival, now entering its next [spoiler alert!] chapter.
The podcast features contributions from: Bev Zalcock, Clare Stewart, Selina Robertson, Roz Kaveney, Muffin Hix, Christa Holka, Naz Jamal, Brian Robinson, and a cameo from Lisa Gornick.
In this third Odd Girl Out podcast for East London Radio, Val Phoenix meets musician Kristin Hersh to discuss the new Throwing Muses release, Purgatory / Paradise, a combination book/CD, excerpts of which soundtrack this show. The live clips and readings come from Kristin's appearance at Big Green Books, London in October, 2013.
